Helene Martin Gee Pink Shoe 2017 GBA SummitHelene is President of Pink Shoe, the award-winning UK network for business leaders she founded in 2007, which has associated partner networks in many major cities.

A prominent Parliamentary Adviser, Helene has worked at the centre of Government for 20 years, as Chief of Staff and Special Adviser on International Relations, and as a member of Government think tanks on entrepreneurship and social enterprise. In 2006 she established the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Entrepreneurship led by the Earl of Erroll, and initiated and chaired its Advisory Board until 2015.

Helene drives the Economic Blueprint for Women, a robust portfolio of solutions created in the US by Women Impacting Public Policy. Supported globally by Quantum leaps Inc, it is aimed at developing both the competitive capabilities of women business owners and the performance of the business ecosystem. Having secured for the UK the first roll-out of the programme internationally, Pink Shoe delivers the initiative with a team of expert volunteers and in partnership with leading business and academic organisations. Helene is now expanding the Blueprint across the EU and recently signed an MOU with India to collaborate on a digital platform for women-led businesses.

To further progress the work of Pink Shoe, in 2016 Helene established the Pink Sky Foundation to enable the lifelong development of women and support future talent. She created its highly successful BoardAble Programme to deliver greater diversity in public and board appointments; and founded the Pink Sky Academy, providing bespoke training for scalable, high-growth female businesses.

A serial entrepreneur, non-executive director, investor and regular media commentator, Helene is on the global board of Quantum leaps Inc, USA; sits on the Advisory Board for the Institute for Creative & Cultural Enterprise (ICCE) at Goldsmiths, London University; and was previously on the Entrepreneurship Advisory Board for Innovate UK.

Having won numerous awards including an RSA Business Award and 8 ‘High Impact’ Awards for the annual event she created and hosts during Global Entrepreneurship Week, Helene is also a judge for many business awards, including Entrepreneur of the Year, and chaired the panel for the Shell LiveWIRE Awards.

Helene is a Fellow of the RSA; Fellow of the Institute for Optimum Nutrition; Trustee of the Tessa Sanderson Foundation; Committee Member of Save the Children Fund.
