Charles M Mudiwa Stanbic 2017 GBA SummitMr. Charles M Mudiwa is a business leader with expertise and extensive experience in Banking who has set up a bank from scratch as well as leading a stock exchange listed financial institution. His key achievements include successfully setting up Agricultural Bank of Zimbabwe(Agribank); launching of the first interbank financial inclusion product in SA; growing Standard bank Malawi from bank number 3 to number 1 on PAT and being recognised as the Banker magazine bank of the year for 6 years 2007-2013; Best Employer 2011; Best Equal Opportunity employer.

He has previously worked as an Executive Director for Agribank and Stanbic Bank Zimbabwe where he acquired experience in bank management (Retail, Operations, Corporate and Treasury).

In South Africa he was part of the Interbank team that set up Mzansi Bank Account. He was responsible for the roll out of banking services in the previously disadvantaged areas of SA, formulating and implementing the mass markets value proposition. In recognition of this work he has addressed various conferences including the Commonwealth Business Council and Micro Finance Association of the UK on Low Income Banking.

Charles is the Chief Executive at Stanbic Bank Zambia Limited. In his this capacity he has productively achieved a number of successes including taking the bank to the top most profitable banking in Zambia in 2015. The Bank has also won a number of awards in his reign as Chief Executive in Zambia.
