Women Must Work 25 Years More to Retire with Same Funds as Men

Women & Retirement Readiness ReportAccording to Westpac’s recently released Women & Retirement Readiness Report, there is a $121,000 gap between super balances (retirement funds) of men and women. This means that women would have to work on average until they are 85 to start their retirement at the same levels. The report also revealed that 83% of women aged 40-65 surveyed do not feel prepared for retirement and over half (51%) expected to have ‘saved more by now’ for their retirement.
