About Zanaco

Zambia National Commercial Bank (Zanaco) Plc was established in 1969 to serve the financial needs of all sectors of the Zambian economy. Today the bank has total assets of US$1 billion, with US$750 million in deposits and US$350 million in outstanding loans. Zanaco’s 70 branches, 200 ATMs and 1,200 agents operating throughout the country serve over 1 million customers. The bank prioritizes building financial capabilities for individuals and businesses as part of its efforts to build the wealth of Zambians and drive economic growth.

The Program

Zanaco is currently developing its Women’s Market program, which will focus on female entrepreneurs as well as retail customers. They plan to offer a range of non-financial services under the program and are also looking at product modifications that will enable women to better access financing – including mobile solutions and collateral-free options. The bank also has a strong gender focus internally, with a goal of 50/50 representation.
